Building homes that are tailored to each family and are functional in design is the centerpiece of Axiom Homes. Jeremiah Steckman and his wife, Jana, founded the design/build construction company in 2014 because they saw a need in the community: to design homes that uniquely fit the way you live and offer a building experience that is transparent and fun. 

Jeremiah’s training started in 1999 when he became a heating and air conditioning licensed journeyman. He soon married his high school sweetheart, Jana. With their first child on the way in 2002, Jeremiah aspired for more so he enrolled in college and worked full time during the day then attended night class to earn his associates degree from ITT Tech in design and drafting.

After graduating with honors, Jeremiah worked for a local architect as a project manager and draftsman. It was perfect because design is his passion and Jeremiah was able to design builds and remodels. It was a great experience and it was Jeremiah’s first time to build from plans and designs that he had imagined.

In 2006 he was hired by one of the Inland Northwest largest builders and developers, Greenstone Homes. He honed his design craft and within six months Jeremiah was promoted to manage the architectural department. It was a hands-on, high pressure environment where he relied heavily on his practical construction background.

“My team and I were responsible for the design and development of hundreds of homes, townhomes, and apartments,” said Jeremiah. “I was mentored by some of the best in the business and gained experience in all facets of the construction and development industry.”

The decision to go out on his own was a risk, but a risk he wanted to take. With his own crew supporting him – his wife and six children – Jeremiah started Axiom Homes with the belief that his team could provide a fresh approach to the design and build process. 

“We listen more than we talk, hear our client’s story instead of only telling ours and we take a genuine interest in their lives,” said Jeremiah. 

From the initial design meeting to the moment you’re handed the keys, Axiom Homes cares about the details. Whether it’s a custom home or spec home, each project is approached with a passion for excellence and a commitment to build homes that are on time and on budget. 

When he’s not on the job site, Jeremiah enjoys spending time with his wife, Jana and their kiddos. They recently added to the family again with the adoption of a one-year-old boxer named Harley.
